I believe in bold action. It's what led me to leave a satisfying teaching job to help lead education work at UNICEF USA. It's what inspired me to take the learning resource development skills I honed there and freelance for several years. And boldness impelled me to leave teaching once more to become a professional instructional designer and eLearning developer.
It takes boldness to impart knowledge and skills to learners. It also takes persistence, creativity, and love. Before any project, I empathize with learners and gather vital information about their needs. I then continue through the phases of Design Thinking to brainstorm, create, iterate, and deliver the most effective learning experience possible, always with the learners in mind. From my years of teaching in grade 4-12 classrooms, I bring to my ID work mastery-level skills in evidence-based learning strategies, as well as designing creative training activities for maximum knowledge and skill transfer. I am also highly proficient in targeting activities to specific and diverse learner profiles, engaging an audience, and assessment. My time at UNICEF USA and elsewhere gave me high-profile experience in working with subject-matter experts, writing for adult learners, and designing effective instructor-led training. With my training as an instructional designer, I now add to my skillset a deep understanding of adult learning principles, ID models, visual design, and user experience. Truly, each stage of my career has propelled me to this moment.
I am passionate about instructional design because I believe in the power of learning to solve problems. With training solutions from EmbolDAN Learning, your team will become learners capable of solving your organization's most pressing challenges. Are you ready to embrace the power of learning? Then let's create something bold together!
